CODE OF GOOD GOVERNANCE
We consider it highly appropriate to highlight certain aspects that form the content of our proposed Decalogue of Good Governance, in order to set the standard and the pace of our work at the head of the Academy, all in an ethical and transparent manner, and always in line with the current values of the academic world and European society.
.- The Governing Board has the right and the duty to clearly understand the Academy's objectives and expectations.
.- The Governing Board must establish a "moral" contract of community of interests with the Academy, so that unavoidable commitments, a shared vision and mutual responsibility are generated.
.- The members of the Governing Board have the responsibility of involving all academics in a common commitment to shared challenges and values.
.- The Governing Board must maintain the initiative at all times in order to achieve the established objectives and expectations.
.- The Governing Board must be faithful, transparent and prompt in the information provided to the General Assembly.
.- The Governing Board must seek a balance between short- and long-term horizons in order to ensure, in a sustained manner, the Academy's expectations.
.- The members of the Governing Board must loyally reconcile their professional careers with the legitimate interests of the Academy.
.- The Governing Board shall act, at all times and/or in all circumstances, in accordance with ethical principles.
.- The Governing Board's emphasis must always revolve around the figure of the academic and, therefore, it must always bear in mind that its activities benefit them.
.- The Governing Board must consider all academics equal, regardless of their position, sex, nationality and age. The Governing Board's motivation must be aimed at facilitating their research work, making available to them the means within its reach for their greater and better development.
